Welcome to the Los Angeles Virtuosi Orchestra's mid season concert highlights video! Returning at St. James as part of its Great Music Classical Sundays at Six concert series, our musical program performed on January 7, 2024, opened with rarely heard gems from Antonin Dvorak and Igor Stravinsky, the Nocturne op.40 and Concerto in D Major for String Orchestra, respectively, and with one of the most popular concerti in the classical music repertoire. Concluding the performance, Johann Sebastian Bach's Clavier Concerto no.1 in D minor featured Maestro Carlo Ponti's son Vittorio Ponti performing the solo part on the piano in his first-ever appearance as soloist with an orchestra performing a major musical masterwork.
