Camera-Lidar calibration for autonomous driving

The lidar sensors and cameras are the eyes of an autononomous vehicle. The 2D & 3D data they produce must be correctly combined and synchronized to provide clear vision – and safe autonomous driving.

Eugeniu Vezeteu is one of the young experts from the Finnish Geospatial Research Institute FGI – he recently completed his masters thesis working on our autonomous research car. He has programmed the car’s various sensors to work together seamlessly. Watch video to find out more about the research.
