DIY Butcher Block Countertop Installation Using a Track Saw

Installing butcher block countertops looks simple… until it’s time to make the cuts. In this video I walk you through PART 1 of my kitchen butcher block countertop installation from start to finish.

I start by adding support blocks around the built-in dishwasher area to properly secure the countertop and prevent weak spots. From there I show you how I measured, marked, and cut the butcher block to fit the kitchen layout using my Milwaukee track saw for long, straight cuts and a Milwaukee jigsaw for detailed cuts like the sink opening.

I also demonstrate how I use a sink template to accurately lay out the sink cutout before making the final cuts. Once everything is trimmed and fitted correctly, I secure the butcher block to the cabinets and test-fit the large drop-in sink.

PART 2 will cover the complete finishing process, including sealing, protecting, and treating the butcher block countertop for long-term durability and water resistance.
