Will the Coronavirus Derail the Global Economy?
On February 20, the Becker Friedman Institute hosted a panel of leading experts to discuss the potential health and economic implications of the coronavirus outbreak.
The panel featured Chang-Tai Hsieh, Professor of Economics at Chicago Booth; Yanzhong Huang, Director of Seton Hall’s Center for Global Health Studies and Senior Fellow for Global Health at the Council on Foreign Relations; and Emily Landon, Associate Professor of Medicine and Executive Medical Director of the Infection Prevention & Control Program at UChicago Medicine. Eliza Barclay, Vox Science and Health Editor, moderated the discussion with opening remarks by Zhiguo He, Professor of Finance at Chicago Booth.
