1. Tissue Cassettes
Molded from a special high-density polymer
safely submerged in liquid and are totally resistant to the chemical action of histological solvents.
Uses
holding tissue samples in processing, embedding, and sectioning procedures as well as storage.
2.L. Moulds (brass) Leukart's L blocks
L-shape type embedding paired mould are
uses
for making parafin blocks.
can be made of different sizes by adjusting l-mould.
3.RBC pipette ( Red Blood Cell Pipette)
RBC pipette has red bead in the bulb and it has marking of 0.5, 1 and 101.
Uses:
a. For RBC counts. Diluting fluid- Hayem’s fluid, Dacie’s fluid
b. Wherever higher dilution is required Eg; High total leukocyte count and total sperm count
4.WBC pipette ( White Blood Cell Pipette.)
WBC pipette has white bead in the bulb and it has marking of 0.5, 1 and 11.
Role of beads:
Helps in identification of pipette
Helps in mixing of diluting fluid and blood
To ensure dryness of pipette: Free mobility indicates a dry pipette
Uses:
a. For WBC counts.
b. Sperm counts
5.Hemoglobin Pipette
Pipette without bulb, with marking 20μL
Uses.
To aspirate blood during estimation of hemoglobin by Sahli’s method
Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC)
6.Syringe
Device used to inject fluid or withdraw blood.
To aspirate tissue during FNAC
Parts :
Hollow cylinder with markings and a sliding plunger.
7.Needles: For aspiration
Various gauges.
Smaller the number – wider bore/internal diameter
Larger number -smaller bore/internal diameter
8.Microscopic glass slides
Frosted at one end.

Uses:
Preparation of peripheral smear/pap smear/ tissue sections/cytologic smears
9.Diamond Glass Marking pencil
It contains piece hard imported rock which put mark on glass
Uses
used on marking permanent on glass slide and test tube. virtually any surface, including metal, glass, or plastic
10.Syringe holder
Franzen Handle
Uses
To fit syringe and needle for performing FNAC
11.Coplin jar:
Plastic jar which is grove/ rack inside
Uses

For holding microscopic slides vertically during staining and washing smears/sections on the glass slides.
12.Blood bag:
disposable biomedical transparent flexible poly vinyl chloride(PVC) containers.
Uses:
To collect, process and store the whole blood and blood components.
