Visit to St Nicholas Nursing Home and Hostel by Archbishop Makarios

These are often the times when a shepherd is most revealed to us – the comforter, loving father (pastoral carer) and motivator to the individuals in his flock – especially to those who may live a life or work in vocations with greater challenges.

To demonstrate how faithful should live out the expression of their faith, I show you a visit by His Eminence Archbishop Makarios that was not widely known as it was not announced, with exception to staff, residents and families of St Nicholas Nursing Home and Hostel.

I watched this man for close to an hour walk around St Nicholas seeking to learn about the operation, the staff and more importantly the people who call this place home. I purposely left a part of the recording in this video, where you can actually hear how His Eminence specifically requests (in Greek) to be introduced to each person one-by-one, he was determined to meet all his flock (something he actually tries in all his visits).
