Nuts – Should we refrigerate?
Hi, it’s Keith with Prevail Over Cancer. @JeffLopes and I were recording a podcast recently and he asked me if we should refrigerate nuts. I assumed so, but I wasn’t sure. I told Jeff I’d check the medical journals and let him know. There is a little bit of research. Here’s what I found out.
Storing nuts at room temperature allows faster oxidation (damage) to the beneficial oils, fats, and antioxidant phenols, compared to refrigerating them. So, if you buy nuts in bulk like Jeff and I do, it’s better to refrigerate them.
