As green houses are functioning all around the seasons, it is important to know how does a greenhouse work in winter and in summer. The greenhouses work in winter with a special lamp system which gives perfect warmth for all the greenhouse plants. Also during the Winter, the greenhouse works by receiving enough light from the lamps . This light is absorbed by the plants for photosynthesis.
We visited a greenhouse in the city of Leiden in the Netherlands to check on how a greenhouse works in the winter season. Even though we went to the greenhouse during the spring season, the plants and the lights gave us a clear indication that the greenhouse has worked perfectly in the past winter and produced enough harvest of different plants. During this visit we saw a variety of vegetables and green leaves, which we are explaining in this video.
