‘m’ is a piece I played in one sitting on the last day of April in 2012, unrehearsed, uncomposed, with no expectations, to no audience.
for fifty minutes, I put myself in the eyes of someone who may
never be able to touch the piano again after playing this,
a departing gift with no room for error or misunderstanding.
'I wanted to see if it was truly possible to still be beautiful,
stripped of everything that made me want to live,
to have still chosen to live this life alone.'
