Laws of Aurangzeb in Secular India | Vishnu Jain and Sanjay Dixit

If you thought India was a secular country, with the State being neutral among different faiths - think again. There is a Shariat Act, 1937, a Muslim Marriage Dissolution Act, 1939, which restricts Muslim women's right to divorce. These 2 Acts were adapted under Art. 372 of the Constitution of India. Then there is the Places of Worship Act, 1991, and the Waqf Act, 1995 that protect the Islamic rights to keep their possession on temples razed, vandalised and occupied by them pre-1947, and the worst of all - Waqf Act gives them untrammelled rights to declare any property as their own. Vishnu Jain, advocate, who has challenged the last 2 Acts, and also filed a Civil Suit to reclaim the Mathura Keshav Dev Mandir, joins Sanjay Dixit to discuss the issue.
