Have A Very VanDerCar Halloween!

1972: Joan Hall Visits the Ultimate Halloween House

Happy Halloween! Here's a news story for All Hallow's Eve: WTVJ reporter Joan Hall visits Miami's favorite warlock/sculptor at his home just east of Biscayne Boulevard, to talk witchcraft and hear Miami's Magus tickle the ivories.

Yes, that's VanDercar's house, festooned with fantastical sculpture. It used to sit on its lot a block or two north of where the Omni is now, just like any other suburban home...Except that it was festooned with fantastical sculptures. In time VanDercar moved upstate, to a subterranean bunker in a wooded area near Zephyrhills, surrounded by the warlock/artist's distinctively demonic sculptures.
