Centrifugal switch start Metropolitan-Vickers electric motor - Refurb
Refurbishment of an old centrifugal switch start Metropolitan-Vickers electric motor. I was without the use of my lathe for two weeks after my 70+ year old motor decided to stop working. A refurbishment of the motor has given it a new lease of life, and kept a bit of British history from the scrapyard, and although I never fully found what caused the fault, my best guess was the years of swarf and metal dust within the mechanics of the switch.
