Dutton makes scathing comparison of PM to Gough Whitlam

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has made a scathing comparison of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to former Labor prime minister Gough Whitlam.

Mr Dutton took aim at the government’s latest industrial relations reforms, accusing Mr Albanese of delivering “solely on the agenda” of union bosses.

“The Prime Minister’s interest here as it was for Gough Whitlam – is to try and find a way through a situation to arrive at a solution that is in the benefit of the broader Labor movement,” the Opposition Leader said at the Victorian Liberals state council.

“That’s not workers – our party today is the party of workers.

“We are the party of small business.”
