Home made cat food - Why I cook it now...

In this video, I show you how I cook my home made cat food. This video is a follow up to my video entitled "How to make raw cat food - Homemade recipe for healthy cats" which I published in December 2018. (See below for link to the recipe).

While I still use the same ingredients and recipe as my earlier video, and my cat is happy and healthy, I have recently began cooking the food, due to lack of confidence with the freshness of the grocery store meat available to me.

While I still truly believe that raw food is very healthy for cats, this is only true if you can guarantee that the meat is really fresh. I had a few incidents over the last 2 1/2 years that have caused me to lose faith in the meat freshness then ends up in my grocery store, and since I do not butcher my own meat, I am at their mercy as to freshness.

Let's face it, meat in the grocery store is made to be cooked. With that in mind, they assign it a best before date. Most of the time the meat I buy is completely fresh, and I fed my cat a raw diet for about 2 years. However during those 2 years, there were 3 occasions when he threw up due to the food. Therefore I began changing the way I prepared his food - I began cooking it. This video points out the steps that I take to do that and some of the safety concerns I have about cooking it.
