Preview of Eternal Decks from Episode 1 of "Board Game Fun Phase" - board game things that I am excited -- whether an upcoming game, a game I just received or played, a piece of news, or whatever is bringing me boardgame joy right now.

Eternal Decks is a cooperative card puzzle game for up to four players but also with a puzzle mode, where you place cards from your hand following placement restrictions in rows. Once you reach the end of the row, you can release one of the Eternals there, which gives you more cards and a special power…but straps you with another restriction. You have to reach certain goals as a team before you run out of cards, so you better make sure to get the right player in position to release an Eternal before they run out. But did I mention you only have limited communication? A super fun puzzle to work through from designer Hiroken with great art from Mujunsha, and published by Tricktakers Games and Portland Game Collective. Bonus: A solo mode that throws in some leveling up mechanics and some fun powers.
