Markus Green Keynote Speech, Law Day Luncheon-2023
Law Day is one of the most important events on the John Jay calendar. Law Day is an exciting opportunity for students to learn about the law school application process, strategies for the Law School Admission Test, and financial aid options.
Markus Green is Vice President & Assistant General Counsel for Pfizer, Inc., one of the largest global biopharmaceutical companies. At Pfizer, Mr. Green helps lead the Government Litigation Group. In this capacity, Mr. Green works with local, state, and federal prosecutors to defend Pfizer’s interest in government-initiated litigation and investigations. Mr. Green is also responsible for several Pfizer initiatives, including civil justice reform, managing the attorney general outreach program and handling congressional inquiries and investigations.
Mr. Green earned his Bachelor Degree, Sum Cum Laude from John Jay College and his Juris Doctorate with honors from Rutgers Law School and is licensed to practice law in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
The Pre-Law Institute is a unique, pre-professional program entrusted with the mission of creating a pipeline to the legal profession for John Jay students. The disconcerting lack of diversity within the legal profession necessitates this pipeline. The Pre-Law Institute addresses the lack of diversity by emphasizing early student engagement in academic and professional skill-building programs that prepare John Jay pre-law students to perform optimally as both law school applicants and as law students.
