How to Install macOS on iPad or iPhone | Running macOS on iPad

Install macOS on an iPad? In this video, I show you how I managed to run a full desktop version of Mac OS X Leopard on an iPad using the UTM SE Retro PC Emulator from the Apple App Store. This experiment turned out way smoother than I expected — and yes, it’s running a real version of macOS, not a remote desktop or screen mirroring trick.

We’ll walk through how this setup works, how apps perform, internet browsing, third-party tools like TenFourFox, classic applications, and even games — all inside a PowerPC virtual machine on the iPad. This is a fun retro-computing project and a great look at what iPads are capable of beyond iPadOS.

Why I Made This Video
I wanted to test whether an iPad could run a full desktop operating system locally — not streamed, not remote access — real hardware emulation powered by UTM SE. The result is surprisingly smooth and usable for experimenters, tech enthusiasts, and anyone interested in retro operating systems or virtualization.
