A young investigator, Captain Yuri Zelenov, becomes a witness of a businessman Letyagin’s murder. The murderer wore a mask, but Zelenov managed to notice a tattoo with a lizard on his hand. Zelenov is suspected in the murder and is called for a questioning in the IAD. The questioning is made by the major of IAD Yevgeni Zhuzhukalo. He sympathizes for Zelenov, but still suspects him. Zelenov’s management watches him carefully as if they are afraid he would provide Zhuzhukalo with an unwanted information. But Zelenov manages to tell that the murdered businessman Letyagin and an ex husband of Zelenov’s girlfriend Stepan Kolesnikov made a common business. They also had a third partner – businessman Antonov who is prison now, being suspected in murdering his driver. Someone tries to frighten Sasha, Zelenov’s girlfriend, trying to drown her in a pound. Zelenov learns that deputy Mitin with a nickname Mityai is behind all this. Antonov confesses that Zelenov’s management tries to steal his business. Now when Letyagin is gone and Antonov is in prison Kolesnikov might be the new aim. To be exact – a person whom Kolesnikov made in charge before going to prison. This person is Sasha! Zelenov manages to save his girlfriend, noticing a tattoo with a snake on the hand of the attacker. This man works for Zelenov’s boss. Zhuzhukalo decides to wiretap the police offices. This helps to catch the criminals in the act. Antonov is set free from prison but is immediately kidnapped in front of Zelenov and Zhuzhukalo…
