Crampons might seem like “mountaineering gear” but as a Freerider they will make adventures in the mountains much more enjoyable.
In this episode of How To Xv I go through when I like to use crampons, which crampons I like to use and why. From traditional steel crampons, through to new light-weight aluminum ones and when one is better than the other. Also, which ones to use with snowboard boats, as generally they don’t fit particularly well, so a few tricks for making sure your crampons are secure, a crampon coming off at an inappropriate moment can be fatal.
