Likuliku Lagoon Resort
A luxury adults-only resort set on the edge of a turquoise lagoon, Likuliku has a strong commitment to conservation and preserving its stunning environment, embodied by a small breeding population of critically endangered iguanas. Traditional Fijian warmth, excellent food and a rich cultural streak add to its appeal.

Malolo Island is 16 miles (25km) from Nadi International Airport. A one-hour ferry ride or 40-minute speed boat ride takes visitors from Denarau on the main island of Viti Levu to the resort. Helicopter or seaplane flights are faster, but more expensive, options. Likuliku is on the island’s south-east coast, looking out to Castaway Island and a short boat trip from tiny Mociu (Honeymoon Island) and Monuriki, the location for the Tom Hanks film, Castaway.
Tides Reach Resort
Just four beach villas on a stretch of beach that’s all yours, where you can glimpse sunrise and soak up sunset from the deck, tuck into gourmet meals, and relax on a private terrace, while around you, the fairytale-esque waterfalls and scenic hikes of the ‘garden island’ of Taveuni await.

Anywhere on Taveuni, Fiji’s third largest island, is a good spot, but Tides Reach is a convenient 10-minute drive from Taveuni’s Matei airport, near the northern tip (complimentary return transfers for guests). Known as the ‘garden island’, 80 per cent of Taveuni’s rainforest and coastal forest is national park-protected, with wonderful birdwatching, rare flower-spotting and hiking amid the waterfalls of Bouma National Heritage Park.
Kokomo Private Island Fiji
A remote escape on a lush, tropical Fijian Island. Its pristine and private beach location combined with spacious villas make it well worth the trip. This all-inclusive paradise is one of – if not the – best place to stay in Fiji.

In Fiji, it doesn’t get much better than this. Arrive via Kokomo’s private seaplane or helicopter, a 40 to 45-minute trip from their private lounge near Nadi International Airport. The property is situated on the Great Astrolabe Reef, and guests can snorkel, dive, fish, surf, sail, kayak, paddleboard and more from the beach or one of the resort’s boat excursions. On the nearby islands, you can explore a waterfall or get a village tour from a local.
Vomo Island
For a prettier-than-postcards family vacation that's as effortless as it is beautiful, good luck topping Vomo. The 103-hectare private island brims with natural wonder and adventure, while the elegant villas, flavourful restaurant and stunning beachfront bar are a fabulous picture of tropical chic.

Vomo Island is a far-flung member of the Mamanucs, an exquisite collection of volcanic islands perched to the north of the main island (easy connections exist by ferry from Port Denarau and by helicopter from Nadi Airport). It was never previously inhabited and instead served as a retreat for tribal chiefs who were likely enamoured with its clear-as-quartz waters, scenic overlooks and three miles (5 km) of vanilla-sand beach. Prime snorkelling and diving spots are a quick cruise from shore, and a deserted, neighbouring islet – Vomo Lailai – beckons kayakers.
Laucala Island
This private-island holiday home of Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz is almost kitsch in its perfection: four square-miles of private forest and coconut groves, cut through with a golf course, pools and waterfalls. With just 25 villas, and almost 350 staff, the service is as glorious as the island’s setting

One of three little islands in the Koro Sea, a 50-minute flight (costing £810 return) in the island’s private King Air B200 plane from Nadi (into which regular flights land from Los Angeles, Seoul and Hong Kong). From London Heathrow, it’s a long 32-hour journey, but once there, it’s the ultimate millionaire’s hideaway.
