How Post Malone Makes a Hit Song

The Syracuse New York to Grapevine Texas rapper Post Malone has proven to be more than a Caucasian comic book of celebrity tattoos with long hair, he seemingly has the innate formula for hit songs. With just two albums, Stoney from 2016 and Beerbongs & Bentleys from 2018, the number of Post Malone tracks to crack the one million-plus milestone is currently 19.

Post has, 10 Platinum hits: “No Option,” “Too Young,” “Déjà Vu” (featuring Justin Bieber), “Ball for Me”, “Paranoid” “Spoil My Night” (featuring Swae Lee), “Rich and Sad,” “Over Now”, “Stay” and now “Wow”

That is not even including “Candy Paint” – 2x Platinum, “Go Flex” and “Sunflower” (featuring Swae Lee) – 3x Platinum, “Better Now,”– 4x Platinum, “White Iverson,” “I Fall Apart,” and “Psycho” – 5x Platinum, as well as the two biggest sonic booms of his career: “Rockstar”– 8x Platinum and “Congratulations” – 9x Platinum.

Aside from the mega major mainstream music multi-media marketing machine, are there any other methods to Post Malone’s madness that add to his song-making success? What do his hits tend to have in common, and what makes him such a hypnotic artist in the eardrums of millions?
