The presenters visit Brighton Pavilion, which was built by Queen Victoria's uncle King George IV, and where she spent the first Christmas after her coronation in 1838. Tim Wonnacott explores the Chinese-style interior and reveals the influence of Charles Dickens on the queen, while Rosemary Shrager examines the servants' quarters, where Victoria went to watch fireworks. Food historian Ivan Day also re-creates a set of decorative jellies.
