Ueiua CMG-2420 PWM Solar Charge Controller

A review of the CMG-2420 solar charge controller, not recommended!

The original eBay listings for the "MPPT" controller seem to have vanished. Most don't specify the type of controller and a few correctly list "PWM" in the description. Interestingly, the prices have doubled since I purchased the two I got. Maybe all the disputes they had to handle regarding the MPPT description caused them to finally pull the listings.

Both controllers I had seem to work intermittently. I think they have issues with the internal power supply for the micro-controller. One of them has the small inductor that is falling apart. Both will seem to run for some time normally. But then on a random check, I'll find the display blank, and after disconnecting/reconnecting the battery and panels, they'll fire up, only to find the batteries in the 10-11 volt range. So these are just not reliable for unattended operation.
