The Untold Secrets of Suryanamaskar revealed by the Himalayan Yogi, Pashupatinath.
The body as well as mind harbors tensions and knots that cause stiffness. Stiffness in the body signifies blocked channels of energy. These channels are also called Nadis.
We feel stiff because of a shortage of energy circulation in these parts. Holding on to physical or mental trauma or injury is the reason behind accumulation of knots and stiffness.
Every mental knot has a corresponding physical, muscular or connective tissue knot and vice versa. For example, emotional tension and suppression can tighten up and block the smooth functioning of lungs, skeletal muscles, smooth intestinal muscles and cardiac muscle, diaphragm and breathing process contributing to illness in the form of asthma, cardiovascular disorders, Alzheimer's disease, autoimmune disorders, gastrointestinal problems, depression, anxiety, obesity, etc.
The goal of Suryanamaskar is to release these knots and stiffness by mindfully awakening the energy channels all over the body while adjusting gracefully to find comfort in moving from one Asana to another, no matter how painful or uncomfortable it gets.
Learning to silence the unnecessary thoughts that make you want to give up midway is how you can overcome your pain and trauma.
Ultimately, this releases energies that were lying dormant for a long time and the body starts finding much needed vitality, flexibility and strength and the mind becomes light, creative, joyful and balanced.
So ask yourself, what pains of the past you've been holding onto that are responsible for blocking your energy? If needed, meditate over it and let me know. We can work on their solutions.
