[4K HDR] A walk at EUR Lake Park between modern buildings and cherry trees | Rome, Italy | Slow TV

On this tour we walked in the Central Lake Park area in the EUR district. We started at the steps of Saints Peter and Paul Church and after a short walk through the residential area near the church, we headed to Central Lake Park. There we walked along the Japanese Promenade, an avenue surrounding the lake. This avenue is adorned with beautiful trees including cherry trees (prunus serrulata) that were donated, in 1959, by then Japanese Prime Minister Nobusuke Kishi on behalf of his government.

⁕Some information about the EUR district⁕
EUR is a district located in the southern part of the capital. The area on which it stands was designed in the '30s of the twentieth century, for the construction of the seat of the Universal Exhibition of Rome (E.U.R. from whose acronym took its name) planned for 1942, but did not take place because of the Second World War.
At the end of the fifties, in preparation for the Games of the XVII Olympiad (Rome 1960), EUR had a further development. In addition to the arrangement of the Central Park of the Lake, were completed some infrastructures such as the Palace of Sport, the Olympic Velodrome (demolished in 2008), the ENI Palace and the Ligini Towers.
Even after the 1960 Olympics the architectural development of EUR continued, also assuming a residential and commercial function.
Today EUR is the most important financial and service center of the capital, due to the presence of numerous bank branches, public and private offices and a museum center.

◈ A brief description of our shooting style 🎬🎥
In this channel we film from the point of view of the observer what surrounds us while we walk or ride a bicycle.
The kind of film we make can be defined as Slow TV, i.e. filming ordinary events (such as a walk) for their entire duration, with original audio and without editing (except for unforeseen circumstances or technical reasons).
We decided to use this mode of shooting because we believe that in this way we can show (in addition to the places) a small slice of reality. This seems more interesting to us than showing the usual glossy films.

◈ How to use our Videos 📃
You can "actively" watch our videos, look at the details, read the names of the streets we pass through, and make comments about the places we visit (we'll be happy to reply).
Alternatively, you can use our videos as a "relaxing backdrop" while doing something else, such as Saturday morning breakfast or a ride on your exercise bike.
