Ecuador and Galapagos Islands - 17 days trip in 17 minutes - Travel, Climbing, Diving and Drone - 4k

Hey guys, just before Corona got really serious we had the chance to travel Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands for 2 and a half weeks in February and March. In this 17 minutes we'd like to share some of our moments!
After the arrival at the airport of Quito we made during our stay in Quito of two nights our first acclimatization hike up to the Rucu Pichincha at 4696m.
Our next stop was the Quilotoa volcano lagoon, which we reached by bus (Ecuador Hop). In Quilotoa you can hike down the trail to the lagoon and do some kayaking or you can hike along the crater.
In Baños we really enjoyed different action activities such as rafting, a giant swing over the city and relaxing in the really hot (45°C) pools of the Termas de la Virgen.
After replenishing our energies we went to Riobamba to get prepared for the climb of the sun's nearest mountain of the world - the Chimborazo! If you want to climb the summit without a guide, make sure you get a permit from the Ministerio del Ambiente to be able to rent mountain gear and to enter the park. On February 19th 2020 at 10:30pm we started the ascent to summit. Hiking and Climbing under the most beautiful starlit sky we reached 6000m at about 4am in the morning of February 20th. Due to very heavy winds with frozen sands we decided to return to the Refugio Carrell. After arriving again in Riobamba we made our way to Guayaquil to visit the city. From there two days later we took a flight to the Galapagos Islands. Staying on the island San Cristóbal the first few days we got our PADI Advanced Open Water Diver License and had a lot of fun with the sea lions.
With a speed boat we crossed over to the island Santa Cruz. We really enjoyed the long white sand beaches and our two dives at Seymour Norte and Daphne Minor where we went on a saling ship with the company NAUTIDIVING S.A.
After one week on the Galapagos Islands we returned by plane to Quito, from where we directly went to Otavalo to see the market (Saturday morning!) and to buy some alpaca clothing. After taking a boat ride on the Cuicocha lagoon and visting the middle of the world we spend the last few days of our journey in Qutio, where we visited the Plaza Grande and saw the changing of the guards in front of the Carondelet Palace from the roof of the Catedral Metropolitana (!). We also went up to El Panecillo and the Basílica del Voto Nacional where you get some amazing views over the city!
We started our last night in the Dirty Sanchez Bar and afterwards went to the Groove Music Club.
All in all we had a really diversified trip with amazing nature, sun and beach, action and Ecuadorian culture and colonial cities.
