How To Find Your Evening Gown | Strategies for Choosing "The One"

If there's one phase of competition that truly embodies the heart and soul of pageantry, it's the evening gown competition. What you choose, how it fits you, and how you style your look will speak volumes about you to the judges.

Finding an evening gown can be a whole thang so if you're new to this, don't be intimidated. Start with developing your sense of taste and observing what you like and don't like from the designers mentioned in this video. (Most of the time, the designer *does* matter.) Reflect on your own body shape and figure out what you'd like to show off. From there, make decisions such as color, fabric, and budget for alterations because it is imperative that your gown fit you as perfectly as possible. Unless you really know what you're doing, don't go "too trendy" right out the gate.
