Traktos are compact tracked vehicles that can operate all year round on any surface without the need for conversion or additional accessories. They are much easier and less physically demanding to ride than a snow bike, making them accessible to everyone. They also have a reverse gear that makes it easier to maneuver the machine in reverse. These are low-speed vehicles (32 km/h), so they do not fall into the category of dirt bikes or ATVs. They use a small, fuel-efficient engine that has enough torque with these low-speed gears to overcome any obstacles and carry, pull 600 lb loads. They do not meet the legal definition of a snowmobile since they can operate without snow, only requiring replacing the tire with a ski for better flotation and snow steering, but they can go from snow to sand with the tire, which is very practical in the long period of snow melting.
