In this video, we compiled a list of the 10 new saints of the Catholic Church canonized by Pope Francis on May 15, 2022.

Religious men and women, priests, and a layman are among the ten people identified as being in heaven after living lives of exemplary holiness on earth.

1. Charles de Foucauld

Charles de Foucauld was a French soldier and explorer who later became a Trappist monk and Catholic missionary to Muslims in Algeria. Brother Charles of Jesus was assassinated in 1916 at the age of 58.

2. Titus Brandsma

Titus Brandsma was a Dutch priest, professor, and journalist who wrote in Catholic newspapers opposing Nazi propaganda. In 1942, he was executed by lethal injection in Dachau.

3. Devasahayam Pillai

Devasahayam Pillai was an Indian layman who was tortured and martyred after converting from Hinduism to Catholicism in the 18th century.

4. Marie Rivier

Marie Rivier founded the Presentation Sisters Congregation. During the Reign of Terror, the Frenchwoman founded the order in 1796, when she was 28 years old.

5. Maria Francesca of Jesus

Maria Francesca of Jesus was a 19th-century missionary who crossed the Atlantic Ocean seven times by boat to establish an order of Capuchin sisters in Uruguay, Argentina, and Brazil.

6. Maria Domenica Mantovani

Maria Domenica Mantovani was the first general superior of the Institute of the Little Sisters of the Holy Family, which she co-founded in Italy in 1892 to serve the poor, orphans, and sick.

7. Maria of Jesus Santocanale

Maria of Jesus Santocanale founded the Capuchin Sisters of Immaculate Mary of Lourdes in Sicily in 1910. She spent most of her free time, day or night, in front of the tabernacle.

8. César de Bus

César de Bus was a 16th-century French Catholic priest who founded two religious congregations. He was a zealous preacher and catechist who did many charitable works.

9. Luigi Maria Palazzolo

Luigi Maria Palazzolo was an Italian priest best known for founding the Sisters of the Poor, opening an orphanage, and advocating for the poor.

10. Giustino Maria Russolillo

Giustino Maria Russolillo was the founder of the Vocationist Fathers, Vocationist Sisters, and the Secular Institute of the Apostles of Universal Sanctification in Italy. The priest was passionate about educating and developing young people's vocations.
