tailwheel endorsement training and STOL flap practice

Landing at Locomotive Springs in Salt Lake, taxiing back, and then departure again, trying to utilize a pump of the flaps from 10 to 35-ish degrees around 40 mph indicated, to get the plane into ground effect. Upon achieving flight in ground effect, the flaps are supposed to be slowly let back out with simultaneous continued backpull on the yoke to compensate for reduced lift over the wing. I let the flaps out too early in this case with not enough backpressure and speeds and we descended almost back to touching back down on the ground but put some flaps back in at the last microsecond. I still need to get MUCH better at this technique but it appears to be quite effective when done properly (from watching my instructor).
