►SCRIPT

Roger definitely uses $10,000 dollars worth of DJ equipment, effectively in his routine.

So what he does is play 3 different songs, on 3 different CDJ’s.

The first song which is on deck number 1, is just a vocal intro.
The second song which is on deck number 3, is just a continuous loop - made for atmosphere.
And the third song which is on deck number 2 is a continue snare roll that leads to his intended main song.

So he first play his vocal intro on deck number 1, then he quickly play a 1/4 atmospheric loop on deck number 3, and then he plays his snare roll build up on deck number 2.

Now, Once the snare roll build up is going on, he makes a 1/4 loop on the vocal intro, then he uses the filter sound color fx, on deck number 3 and deck 1 to create his own build up, and he also activates a 1/4 echo on all the songs - layering it with a phasing echo effect.

And once all that is going on, he then cranks all those effects clock wise till he reaches the end of the snare roll build up into.

Now, once the the snare roll build up reaches it’s end. He cranks the echo effect knob counterclockwise to disable it, then he crossfades to the left side, to silence deck number 3, and then he brings down the volume fader on deck number 1 to silence his vocal intro.

So for this routine recreation, we only have 2 tracks that basically accomplish the same result.

The first is a vocal intro and the second is an edited snare build up intro. So this snare intro contains 48 beats of snares that lead to the breakdown.

So before we start mixing, we have to first set the BPM of the vocal intro to 125, because that is the BPM of the song we’re going to mix this intro with.

And we do this, so that when we make a loop, it’ll be in the proper loop length for that BPM. Next thing to do now is to set your effect settings. So select echo and set the beat length to 1/4. So make sure your echo effect is set to 1/4.

Now let’s start mixing.

The first thing you want to do is play your Snare Build Up Intro with the volume fader a little down, then play your vocal intro with the volume fader all the way up.

Now once your vocal intro reaches it’s end. Simply make a 1/4 loop on it, and try to make this loop in time and in sync with the snare build up intro.

The next step now, is to create your own build up, so we’re first going to activate our echo effect on both decks, then we’re going to slightly turn the effect knob clock wise so that we can hear that phasing echo effect,

Then we’re going bring the volume fader of the snare build up intro up, and at the same time, turn the filter knob on the vocal intro clock wise - all while also increasing the echo effect on both decks.

Now, once you reach that breakdown. Bring the volume fader of the vocal intro all the way down, and crank that echo effect counter clock wise to shut it off.
