MERCEDES | ESL EIS KEY BENCH TESTING | NO START DIAGNOSTICS | SYSTEM OVERVIEW

Mercedes IR keys have been around since around 2000, common no start failures are bad key, bad Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS) or bad Electronic Steering Lock (ESL). Replacing these modules are not plug and play and require advanced programming skills.

In this video we will go through some of the various EISs, ESLs and keys that Mercedes offers. And showcase hands on a customer case bench test where vehicle would not start. We will use bench harnesses to test the system and identify where the problem lies and rectify it. As a bonus, we will also demonstrate usage of the Xhorse VVDI MB in reading keys and testing the steering lock functionality through the CAN Bus.
