Welcome to our video on how to use the brand new Products and Categories pages. In this video, we’ll cover: creating, and editing categories. Using the new page layouts, product editing and management.

Hello, everyone!

Today, I’ll show you how to use Epos Now’s newly updated Product List and Categories page.

Let’s start by creating a category for a product we already have in the Product List. First, click the ‘Add Category’ button in the top-right corner of your screen. This is where you’ll enter the category details. With the new search functionality, you can see if any related categories already exist. Let's go ahead and find the one we’re working on.

Now, let’s customise the view to match our needs. We don’t have the right columns on screen at the moment, but with a few clicks, we can adjust that. Just click the ‘Columns’ button, and let’s hide ‘Description’ and ‘Order Printer.’ Then, we’ll add ‘Button Colour’ and ‘Parent Category’ to the view.

Next, we’ll change the category’s button colour. Simply double-click the Button Colour box next to your category, select your favourite colour, and click anywhere outside the box to save it. Once that’s done, we’ll assign this category to its main category. In this case, it’s going to sit inside the ‘Gift Shop’ category.

If you know all the details while creating the category, you can also access Advanced Settings to configure everything in one go.

Alright, now let’s move on to the Product List to finish organising. You can use the search bar to quickly find the product you want to place into the new category. While here, let’s adjust the columns we’re seeing and make sure the ‘Category’ option is visible to help manage the product.

If you ever need to create another version of a product—say, a different size or colour—you can easily make another copy. Simply click the three dots on the right side of the product, then select the "Duplicate" button. A copy will be made instantly, and you can quickly rename it so it’s easy to distinguish.

While you’re editing, you can also set up Stock Tracking by adjusting the current stock, minimum, and maximum levels.

Now, to place the products into their categories, all you need to do is double-click the category field, make your changes, and click out to save. It really is that simple!

Before we wrap up, here’s a quick tip: if you want to see your updated product details appear on the till right away, make sure to Cloud Sync your device. Just tap the three lines in the upper-left corner, then select ‘Cloud Sync’ from the menu.

And that’s it! Your updates are live, and everything is good to go.
