Where is the best place to experience the Loi Krathong and Yi Peng Lantern Festival in Thailand? Right here in Chiang Mai! There are two main places to take part in the releasing of lanterns and krathongs—you can either purchase tickets in advance for the mass release at Lanna Dhutanka (behind Maejo University), or join the locals as we did at the Thanon Charoen Mueang or Nawarat Bridge along the Ping River.
