Government 'will be happy' to have 'split' Dutton and Littleproud
Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says the government "will be happy" to have split Opposition leader Peter Dutton and Nationals leader David Littleproud on the matter of the jobs summit in September.
Mr Dutton has refused to attend the event, but Mr Littleproud accepted after Treasurer Jim Chalmers wrote to him after the Nationals Leader indicated his willingness to take part in the summit.
“I guess Littleproud wants to look like he cares about the regions and has decided to go his own way,” Mr Clennell told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.
“I think they’re trying to isolate Dutton, make him look like he's the man of yesterday with a bunch of men in suits behind him."
