A day trip from Yogyakarta to Merapi volcano and Prambanan temple is worth doing. We hired a van for around 900,000 Rupiah and included tour of Borobudur, Merapi and Prambanan. You need to leave around 7 am to complete the tour. It is sad to see how the volcano claimed the lives of many. The volcano has small eruption the day after we visited. The architectre of Prambanan temple is beautiful and you won't be disappointed.
