Here is the complete television broadcast of Sonny Rollins' absolutely incredible performance at the Paris Jazz Festival in 1965, which was originally aired in two parts.

Sonny's playing here is gargantuan as he directs this rhythm section around with such beautiful force. Art Taylor and Gilbert Rovere are up to it and respond with much fire and great interaction, making this set of music swing so hard it's impossible not to get caught up in the enthusiasm and brilliance of what's going down. Even Taylor and Rovere get caught basking in the colossus that is Sonny Rollins during the last solo sax foray that he launches into. (And perhaps Rovere gets a little bored lol.) Whatever the case, this is music so fresh it's like every listen is your first. Enjoy!!
