Is This the Best Christmas Garden ? Christmas Winter Wonderland in Hartlepool UK
The display started approx 14 years ago when Norman and Pauline took some family children to a Christmas extravaganza that turned out to be a trade fair with Santa and a couple of reindeer. Santa had gone as he had run out of presents. The children were so disappointed so my husband painted some boards of Snow White and the seven dwarfs and we had a small garden party. This gradually increased over the years to what it is today. All the fence boards have been painted with Disney characters and can be dismantled. At the end our summer house is transformed into Santas’ Work shop with many toys we have collected and refurbished some, from boot sales etc. and a large singing Santa sets the scene. Family and friends visit it, it’s lovely to see the children’s’ faces light up and adults too love it. We used to have a family party to switch on the lights. It all starts out in the dark with a train going around the rondel and the lights gradually come on to music. We also have snow machines.
We have not displayed it since the start of the pandemic. We decided to put it out this year for the last time. It is getting too much for us to cope with it as we are now older. We thought there might be someone interested in taking it, otherwise after this year it will be scrapped.
It will be sad to part with it but my husband is coming up to 82 and it takes a lot of work to put it out.
