The focus areas in Defence are Artillery Systems, Precision Ammunition, Armoured Vehicle Upgrades, Protected vehicles and Homeland Security.

The group is also focusing on Marine requirements. It has already been a supplier over past 35 years of components and subsystems to Indian armed forces for a wide range of safety and critical components. However, all these supplies were restricted to only component and subsystem levels.

KSSL is now targeting the system level segment to become a Defence OEM by 2016 for multi-systems.
