1965 Rambler Marlin Fastback - # 7791

For consignment, a 1965 Rambler Marlin fastback with a title verified 91,521 actual miles. This has a fresh restoration including new leather on the interior, a rebuilt engine, and of course, new paint!

Exterior
Easily one of the most unique and recognizable designs in the classic car world, the slope back of the back between flat topped fenders is further accentuated by the elongated stretch of the torpedo shaped rear side windows. They themselves are highlighted by a strip of black paint which calls back the trimmed black middle section, roof and hood of the car. Two stage Antigua Red covers the rest of the car with eye-catching brightness with contrasting and restored polished trim that runs along the straight shoulder line, at the wheel openings, and surrounding the windows. Wonderfully simple contouring tail lights run parallel with the chrome bumper below and chrome exhaust tips protrude for a pleasing and symmetrical presentation. Headlights bulge from the finely striated grille and another straight chrome bumper underscores the dramatic fascia. Imperfections include areas of orange peel finish, paint runs, and some scuff like intrusion.

Interior
Red stitching highlights the vibrantly designed door panels with turned aluminum trim inside black leather panels and both doors are clean. That red stitching on the pleats continues on the tuck and roll of the front bucket seats with extra contrast provided by the bright red piping around the black leather seats, with the pattern and quality mirrored on the rear 2+2 and sidewalls. It's all very clean and very sharp. The fine black steering wheel includes a horn ring and polished stalks ahead of the two gauge dashboard with metal knobs along the turned mid panel. An AM radio and analog clock are also present for your driving pleasure. The new black carpet is just about flawless and the barren trunk with spare has plenty of extra room.

Drivetrain
Our show ready engine bay holds a rebuilt 287ci V8, rated at 198 horsepower and fueled with a 2-barrel carburetor. The blue engine catches your eye along with the uniquely slanted valve covers. Behind it, a Flash-O-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission sending power to the rear axle with 2.87 gears.
