Is Warp 10 possible?

In Star Trek, Warp 10 is theoretically impossible under normal physics because it represents infinite velocity, meaning a ship would exist everywhere in the universe at the same time. In Star Trek: Voyager (“Threshold”), Tom Paris briefly achieves Warp 10, but it results in bizarre mutations and biological instability, suggesting that such speeds are unnatural for living beings. The franchise later abandons this concept, capping normal warp speeds below 10, with Warp 9.9999+ as the practical limit. While future technologies like transwarp and quantum slipstream offer faster-than-light travel, classic warp drive remains bound by these limits in most Star Trek lore.
