4 Trucks. A 100-Year-Old Stone Ridge - 4x4, 4WS, Offroad | RC ADVENTURES

Sometimes the best RC adventures aren't planned. After finishing up our Hill Climb at RC Topia, everyone had some free time to explore and enjoy the property. I grabbed my black Traxxas TRX-4 High Trail and headed down toward the creek, underneath the Skybridge, where an old stone structure has been slowly surrendering itself back to the forest.

These stone walls are easily 80-100 years old, possibly older, and once helped channel water from an overflow pond into the creek below. Today, they're covered in moss, broken apart by time, and surrounded by the forest that's grown up around them.

Naturally... I had to drive an RC truck over them.

I started out alone, but before long Robbie, Thane and Billy had followed me down. No competition. No organized event. No plan. Just four completely different RC trucks and an old rocky ridge that suddenly looked like one hell of a good challenge.

One by one, we gave it a shot.

Thane's custom tow-truck build was especially wild to watch, running incredibly soft tires and rear steering that let him twist and work his way through the rocks. Every truck approached the ridge differently, and somehow... they all made it.

This is exactly the kind of thing I hoped would happen when I started building RC Topia. You finish the planned event, somebody wanders off with a truck, a few others follow... and suddenly you've found yourself on another RC adventure.

No trophies. No rules. Just good trucks, good people, and a 100-year-old stone ridge waiting in the woods. Did you spot the random RED GAS CAN?
