Rotobrush R5000 Negative Air Equipment Informational Video

The R5000 negative air duct cleaning machine offers the power of an air scrubber for remediation work and the versatility and portability for #airductcleaning. Unlike other negative air equipment the market, the R5000 is comprised of four lightweight modular components which adds to it's lightweight and portable design.

Hello, I'm John Kovacs, and I'll be walking you through the essentials of our R5,000 equipment. This video complements the owner's manual provided with your equipment package. Depending on your purchase, some items might vary, but this should provide a general understanding of the equipment and its operation.

Items Included

25-foot Auger and Brush: This will connect directly to a brush whose size is determined by the dimensions of the duct you're cleaning. Connection is straightforward; simply push the brush onto the auger and rotate to lock it into place. The auger connects to the end of your cordless drill, which is not included in any of our packages.

VIPRE Clean Sweep System (optional): If you opted for this system, you'll receive multiple rods ranging from twenty-five to a hundred feet, depending on your selection. The rods connect to your compressed air lines and snap into place easily. The length of the rod you'll use depends on the extent of your cleaning job.

Operating the VIPRE Clean Sweep System

On the rod's end, you'll find a unique mechanism that enables compressed air to pass through and activate four reverse air sweeps. The rubber tubing attached to these air sweeps will vary in size, catering to different duct sizes you'll be cleaning. You can also purchase custom-sized tubing based on your needs.

The unique feature of this system is the forward and reverse air sweep mechanism. This mechanism, located on the head, allows air to either move forward or backward, offering flexibility depending on your cleaning needs.

Another feature of the VIPRE Clean Sweep system is the 'octopus'-like component, equipped with three 'tentacles'. As it moves through the ductwork, it releases air to aid in the cleaning process, which we'll demonstrate shortly.

Stay tuned as we dive deeper into the functionalities of the R5,000 equipment and the VIPRE Clean Sweep system.

Equipment Overview: The R5000 machine comes with several components including a Malko hole cutter, a fogger, an Enviro column, and zone bags in either black or blue. The machine has three stages of filtration and features blank doors and a pleated filter. The machine is designed to be easily disassembled for transport and has a washable soft bag for collecting debris.

Air Duct Cleaning Process: There are two methods of using the negative air machine: with a rubber brush or without. For the process without the rubber brush, start from the furthest register from the air handler and work your way back. Cut an access hole 8-10 inches into the ductwork and attach the connector plate. Use a zone bag to block off the air handler from the access point, and connect the hose to the negative air machine and to the plate.

Physical Agitation: Use a brush auger system to physically agitate each duct, dislodging some dust and debris. Then, use compressed airlines to blow dust and debris back to the air handler.

Sealing Registers: Seal off every register except for the one you're cleaning to maximize vacuum efficiency. Then, use a forward or reverse air sweep attached to compressed air to clean inside the ductwork.

Covering Holes: After cleaning, seal any holes made during the process with plugs or aluminum HVAC tape.

Fogging: Depending on the package, you may have received a fogger. The fogging process involves using a UL fogger with a chemical called Enviro Con, which is EPA registered and specifically designed for HVAC systems. Fog for 60 seconds per thousand square foot and avoid saturating the ducts.

Re-energizing the System: After the cleaning process, re-energize the system and turn the fan back on at the thermostat.

Remember to always refer to your owner's manual for specific instructions and guidance, and call for support if any questions or issues arise during the cleaning process.
