Mini Electronic points conversion problem, not fitting. Distributor 59d classic mini a series points

Hello, I ordered a kit from ebay to convert my mini to electronic points, but it did require trimmimg to fit. The new distributor cap did not fit, so I retained my old one. But I would 100 percent recommend converting your classic car to electronic points as it really was a night and day difference for my 92 cooper. It started easier when cold, it idles great, it pulls alot smoother and overall is a happier engine. Didnt have to reset timing either. Distributor bolt was never loosened, timing id say is a little off, but only by 2 degrees on idle id say. Still runs better then before. Best 70 quid I ever spent
