Boyd's $800 C1 Corvette Restoration: Ep. 3: It's Prime Time...

In this episode, we follow Boyd's journey to completely restore his 1960 C1 Corvette as he gets the body back from the body shop primed up and ready for sanding. With one door already primed, sanded, and painted, the next big task is to finish the removable body panels on the car and then paint the Corvette's body in Chevrolet original Ermine White. The body has never looked this straight and unblemished in 40 years and we're just weeks away from the paint booth.

Many exterior chrome pieces are currently being packaged to get re-chromed, while a brand new electrical harness is on the way to update all of the electronics and to provide a much safer vehicle. The original wiring harness was in shambles and a fire hazard, while the new one will seamlessly work with some newer technologies such as LED headlights and taillights.

Interior carpets are on order as well, while the bucket seats were refinished about five years ago and do not need any attention.

Finally, Boyd shows up his new wheel sample, a reproduction knockoff of a C5 Corvette wheel in 17-inch size. After three tries to get the offsets right, he thinks he finally has a winner.
