Is Cybersecurity Hard To Learn?

Is cybersecurity hard? In this video I give an honest answer from where I actually am — a cybersecurity student still at the CompTIA A+ stage, working through my degree and certs.

I break "hard" into three different questions: is the material hard to learn, is it hard to keep up with, and is it hard to actually break into. The short version is that cybersecurity is hard the way learning any skill is hard — it takes time and consistency, not a genius brain. The certs are a grind but passable, and the toughest part for most people isn't the studying, it's the patience to build a foundation and land that first job.

If you're thinking about getting into cybersecurity and want a realistic picture before you commit, this is my take from the foundation looking up.
