ARE battery blankets WORTH IT for your car?

Starting the car January 15, 2020 in -41C. Car is an 8th gen Chevy Impala with an older battery and 282000km. I hadn't actually heard about battery blankets coming from a warmer climate. My car wouldn’t start at -32 with just the block heater but with a battery blanket as well it fires right up.

If you don't know what a battery blanket is it is a heated pad that wraps around your vehicle battery to prevent the battery acid from freezing in very cold temperatures, if you don't have heated parking and reach -30 Celsius starting becomes an issue even with a block heater so these are well worth it to avoid missing a paid day at work when your car won't start. Using them to avoid freezing can also help to extend your vehicles battery life.
