Watercolor Gumball Tutorial
From the Strathmore 2018 Online Workshops, follow along to Kelly Eddington's lesson 2 tutorial on realistic watercolor painting:
Bubble Gum Still Life

This workshop is about something many beginning artists don’t consider: reflected light. We’ll learn how colorful objects can influence each other. This effect is surprisingly easy to replicate with wet-into-wet watercolor, and we’ll practice that by painting a few gum balls. We’ll also learn how to create the candy’s shiny surface using masking fluid.
Materials:
►Strathmore Watercolor Paper: https://www.strathmoreartist.com/paint-watercolor/id-400-series-watercolor.html
► Palette
► Board / cardboard tape card to
► Painters tape
► Pencil/eraser
► Paper Towels
► Masking fluid
► Masking fluid applicator (old brush, awl, toothpick, etc)
► Round Brushes: #1, #4, #10
► 3/4" Flat Brushes
► Mop brush or large flat brush
► Paint - Kelly's palette is made up of the following colors:
*Cadmium Yellow Light
*Cadmium Yellow Medium
*Cadmium Red Light
*Alizarin Crimson
*Ultramarine Blue
*Prussian or Phthalo Blue
*Cerulean
*Hooker's Green
*Permanent Green Light
*Dioxazine Mauve
*Burnt Sienna
*Sepia
Other handy colors Kelly uses often:
*Opera
*Magenta
*Light Skin
*Yellow Ochre
*Turquoise
*Cobalt Blue
