The footage went viral, leading to his arrest on May 25 under charges of public obscenity and obstruction. Although his wife is a BJP-backed district panchayat member, the BJP has denied any formal association with him. Following the incident, Dhakad was removed from his position as National Secretary of the Dhakad Mahasabha. Additionally, three NHAI employees were dismissed for allegedly leaking the CCTV footage and attempting to blackmail Dhakad.
