115 Arab Package for Punjab Development Budget | Shehri o Dehi Taraqqi Projects | Media 92

Punjab Government has announced a major development package of Rs 115 Arab 50 Crore for the Local Government Department in the financial year 2026-27.

According to budget documents, this big package will be used for development work in cities and rural areas across Punjab. The funds will focus on sewerage, drainage, roads, street lights, water supply, tuff tiling and other basic public facilities.

Under the budget, Rs 23 Arab has been allocated for the Chief Minister Punjab Development Program, while Rs 1 Arab has been set aside for the Special Development Program. For the improvement of graveyards and public facilities, Rs 31 Crore 50 Lakh has also been allocated.

Drainage schemes in rural areas will get Rs 2 Arab 9 Crore to solve water disposal and drainage problems. The Local Government Department will spend Rs 1 Kharab 3 Arab 40 Crore on ongoing development schemes, while Rs 1 Arab 17 Crore 50 Lakh has been allocated for new development schemes.

In Lahore, different development projects will be started in Allama Iqbal Zone, Ravi Zone, Data Ganj Bakhsh Zone, Samanabad Zone, Nishtar Zone, Gulberg Zone, Wagha Zone and Aziz Bhatti Zone. These projects include roads, streets, sewerage system, street lights and public service improvement.

A special amount of Rs 10 Crore has also been allocated for sewerage, drainage and water supply projects in Raiwind Union Council 273.

The government says this development package will improve basic facilities, strengthen infrastructure and help solve long-standing public issues in urban and rural areas.
